  1. Take a Bus to Sitia:
    • Take the KTEL bus from Heraklion to Sitia (~3 hours).
    • Buses depart from the Heraklion Bus Station (near the port) and some also stop at the Airport (opposite the terminal).
    • Check schedules at https://www.ktelherlas.gr/en.
  2. Take a Taxi or a Bus from Sitia to Palekastro:
    • Since there are only few busses going from Sitia to Palekastro it is many times much more practical to take a taxi.
    • If you are lucky and the is a bus going from Sitia to Palekastro that suites your schedule, you will find it at the Sitia Bus Station (~30 minutes).
    • The bus line you need to take, is the bus line going to Palekastro or to Sakros.

From Sitia Airport (JSH):

    • Unfortunately there are no public buses stopping at the Sitia Airport.
    • Except for the option of renting a car at Sitia Airport, you can also take a taxi.
